Red Lady
- •Fruiting – 4.5 months and 8 months to pluck the fruit from the plant. Production – 40 to 60 kilograms per plant.
- •Red Lady is a vigorous and semi – early, productive cultivar and showed good tolerant to papaya ringspot virus.
- •Plants begin to bear fruits at 80 cm height average 30 fruits per plant in first 15 to 18 months.
- •The fruit of the Red Lady variety of papaya do no rotten up to 15 days after complete ripe.
- •That in turn proves helpful in export of this fruits to any other state or country.
- •About 15 to 20 cm tall seedlings are chosen for planting in 2 months.
- •Papaya roots are very sensitive to water logging or standing water.
- •Fruit weight about 1.5 to 2 kgs Fruit is very delicious in taste and fleshy.
- •Optimum temp – 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
- •Do not grow any other crop with papaya.
